July 26 MBA Program ResearchRecently I did a research on UK/US/PRC's MBA programs. I want to start Master Degree study either late next year or early 2008. After comparing, I found that top universities in UK/US normally don't have real distance learning MBA programs, some US top universities have partnership with PRC universities, but those programs are required full-time study. Some second-class UK/US universities offered distance learning, but generally speaking they are expensive (more than 100k RMB) and they required Bachelor degree and TOFEL/GMAT results to prove your language ability.
For PRC Universities, the results are stated below:
First: IMBA
IMBA refers to International MBA. Students can receive Master Degree from both international and domestic universities. However, this is rather expensive (from 200k-4000k).
Second: EMBA
EMBA refers to Executive MBA. This is designed for management level students and the price is around 200k-300k.
Third: MBA
In PRC, there are full-time and part-time MBA programs. CEIBS (China-Europ International Business School) is one of the best business schools in PRC. It ranks No. 21 among the full-time business schools all over the world in 2006 (by Financial Times). But the shortage is it only has full-time program. For part-time MBA programs, Peking University's IMBA and MBA are the best ones. But these programs' prices are much higher than other universities. The price for domestic MBA program ranged from 30k-70k (I mainly searched for universities in Beijing). The advantage for domestic part-time MBA programs is that students have bacholor diploma/college degree with certain years of working experience could apply. After taking the entrace exam and passed the interview, they can be enrolled in the programs. In addtion, there are two exams every year, January and October. If students pass January exam, they will not only receive the Master degree but also obtain the graduation certificate upon graduation while the October exam only can received the Master degree. My personal feeling is master degree is "good enough" (quoted my colleague's word). Forth: MBA Diploma
Some universities offerred master diploma (研修班结业证) courses. But I feel this kind of diploma is not accredited. |
